  Printed catalogs and other direct mail feels the pinch of the housing finance crisis as direct marketers trim distribution to zip codes in areas most hurt by the lending crisis. The cutbacks go beyond the million or so homes in foreclosure, as millions more nearby addresses are tainted by the crisis. Williams-Sonoma Inc. is writing off select zip codes for its six catalogs using aggregate data collected about foreclosures, declining home prices and low credit scores to zap recipients from its solicitations.
